THE EVENT
This event brings together specialists, academics, and health professionals to discuss some of the most recent advancements and innovative applications in health and will be a space to learn, share experiences, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering continuous progress in these critical fields.

Cardiovascular and
Respiratory
This intervention area is dedicated to research and clinical practices for preventing, diagnosing, and treating cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. It promotes collaboration and innovation to improve patient outcomes and support evidence-based responses to major public health challenges.
Infection and
Resistance
This area integrates research in microbiology, immunology and epidemiology, to tackle infection, from host-directed therapies and prevention, to public health strategies. It aims to promote innovative infection control, optimize antimicrobial use, and support new diagnostic and therapeutic solutions.
Muscle and
Bone
The Muscle and Bones intervention area combines research, clinical practice, and education to improve mobility and quality of life. Focusing on injuries and chronic conditions like osteoporosis, sarcopenia, and arthritis, it promotes evidence-based strategies for care, rehabilitation, and healthy aging.
Neurosciences
This area focuses on the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological and psychological conditions.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based interventions, it aims to improve brain health, support mental well-being, and enhance quality of life.
New Frontiers in Health
New frontiers in health are emerging through artificial intelligence, genetic innovations, and digital solutions. From early disease detection to personalized medicine, these technologies are transforming healthcare, opening new possibilities for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

STUDENTS
The Health Sciences Building, with School of Health Sciences and the Department of Medical Sciences at the University of Aveiro offers bachelor’s degrees, micro-credentials, specialization courses, master’s degrees, integrated master’s programs, and doctoral programs, with a total of more than 1.500 students per year.
TEACHERS
The faculty are highly qualified professionals, dedicated to teaching, research, and innovation in healthcare and biomedical sciences. They foster interdisciplinary learning, collaborate with national and international institutions, and contribute to advances in public health, clinical practice, and health technologies.
